A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME & MY COMPANY
Hello and welcome to the Serendipity Apothecary website. I hope you enjoy looking at my range of handmade soap, scrubs, body and face creams and much, much more. I make everything myself, by hand, using the best natural ingrediants I can find. I have a workshop at Blake House Craft Centre, Braintree. I am open to customers Tuesday to Sunday 10am - 5pm. You will be able to see me making the products and best of all you will be able to smell them!
Just a little about me. I am a fully qualified beauty therapist, massage therapist, reflexologist and infant massage trainer. My involvement in making handmade cosmetics and soaps began a few years ago whilst working at the sanctuary in Covent Garden. Inspired by the salt scrub treatment on offer there and wanting to recreate a (better) home version I developed the recipe for my Renew Scrub & Soak, with Lemongrass and Ginger essential oils, which if I do say so myself is amazing! I had always enjoyed making lotions and potions for myself, family and friends to help them care for their skin and minor ailments, such as eczema and general aches and pains. So encouraged by my family and friends I began selling my products to the general public at craft fayres and local markets. And as from February 2010 you can find me at my new premises at Blake Hall Craft Centre, Braintree.
My philosophy is to make products with integrity, to give maximum benefit and real value for money. I use ingredients that are ethically sourced and packaging that has been made from recycled materials. None of the products are tested on animals and everything is vegan friendly.
I use many different vegetable oils and butters such as Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, Mango Butter, Almond oil and Rosehip Seed oil for the bases of my creams and soaps. I use essential oils, plant extracts and botanicals to fragrance and colour my products and to provide them with their healing properties. I do not use any synthetic preservatives, colours or petrochemicals.
